Guide

Paste it safely

Pasting a schematic is quick, and it can also erase things in your world if a setting is wrong. Follow these steps and you will be fine. This guide works for any schematic, not just ours.

The five rules.
  1. Make a backup of your world (or Realm) first.
  2. Litematica: set Paste Replace Behavior to With non-air.
  3. WorldEdit: always use //paste -a.
  4. Check the origin in the HUD before you paste.
  5. Read the hologram colours (below) and look for red.

Before you start

Back up

Copy the world folder (Java: saves/<your world>), or make a Realm backup. If something goes wrong you can always go back.

Know your numbers

Press F3 and read Block: x y z. In Bedrock, switch on Show Coordinates. Our paste guide gives you the exact X Y Z origin for your build; you type it in.

Clear what the build replaces

If the Checks tab lists "would overwrite" blocks (red boxes in the 3D preview), remove or protect those first, or ask for a tweak that moves the build.

Litematica (Java mod)

  1. Put the .litematic file in .minecraft/schematics.
  2. Press M, open Load Schematics, pick the file, then Load Schematic.
  3. Open Schematic Placements, choose Configure and enter the origin X Y Z from the paste guide. Leave rotation and mirror at none: our files are already rotated.
  4. Open Configuration › Generic and set Paste Replace Behavior to With non-air. (All deletes your blocks wherever the schematic has air.)
  5. Check the hologram colours, then switch the tool to Paste schematic in world and use it. You need operator rights and creative mode.

WorldEdit (Java plugin or mod)

  1. Put the .schem in the schematics folder of WorldEdit.
  2. Teleport to the origin: /tp @s X Y Z.
  3. //schem load <name>
  4. //paste -a — the -a skips air, so your blocks are not deleted.
  5. Wrong place? //undo straight away.

Vanilla data pack (no mods)

  1. Drop the zip into your world's datapacks folder.
  2. Run /reload.
  3. Run /execute positioned X Y Z run function plotwright:<name> with the numbers from the paste guide.

Data packs place blocks as the schematic says, including air in some cases. Back up first and try it in a test world if you are unsure.

Structure block (.nbt) and command list (.mcfunction)

Put the .nbt in your world's generated/minecraft/structures and load it with a structure block, moving the offset until the bounding box sits at your origin. The .mcfunction goes in a data pack, or you can paste its lines into command blocks.
